Stardock.net is Stardock's ASP. It was created to dedicate itself to becoming the premiere content provider for electronic subscription services. Stardock.net itself also serves as its own distribution network for its content. For instance, its first product, Object Desktop is delivered by the Object Desktop Network. For $49.95 for the first year and $34.95 for subsequent years, users gain access to the components of Object Desktop and everything updated and new that comes out while they are a subscriber. Object Desktop is a desktop environment designed to transform the Windows operating system into a much more flexible environment. In short, it lets users completely customize the way it works depending on their needs. Stardock.net also sells some of the components of Object Desktop as stand alone products -- WindowBlinds, Control Center, IconPackager, etc. In short, Stardock.net is in the business of creating world class software that is extremely unique and relatively small in size (hence the term "component") to be sold primarily via subscription. But it also will sell its software individually when it makes sense. Stardock believes that electronic subscriptions are the way products will generally be purchased in the future. With high speed connections becoming more common, users will be looking for services that cater to their needs. Stardock.net has thus been formed to create the content and the service for those people.
