What is the FauxS-X Project?

The FauxS-X Project is a collection of free Icon’s, Wallpaper, Skins and Desktop X objects, to be used on Microsoft Windows.

I put this collection together for those of us who are perhaps a bit too concerned what our GUI looks and feels like.

Support the FauxS-X Project, pick up a copy of the Orion Icon Suite.

Most of the best stuff on this site requires applications from Stardock’s Object Desktop. If you are not a member of Object Desktop, I strongly recommend it. If you do not own any of the required programs you can still use some things, like the Icons & Wallpaper.

If you would like to use or distribute any of the items found on this sight, please see the legal mumbo jumbo on the bottom of each page.

Enjoy....

02-02-03: How to Make a Icon In CorelDRAW, New Tutorial.

Since I got back form the Call For Help demo yesterday I have gotten a ton of questions on how I do my Icons. So I put together a quick demo. It requires CorelDRAW, 10 or 11, there is a free trial of Corel over at www.corel.com so everything you need to try out this tutorial is free. so what do you have to lose.
You can download the Zip file containing the CorelDRAW file and the finished examples Here.
02-01-03: Back from Call For Help
I am back form San Francisco, and I had a great time. I don't think I choked quite as badly as I could have ;)

01-31-03: I will be making a Guest Appearance on TechTV's Call For Help :)
As you may have noticed I am a big fan of TechTV and the show Call For Help. Well, a very cool thing has happened and they have asked me to do a demo on making Icons on the show, I am sure it had nothing to do with all the sucking up I have been doing ;)
My segment will be the 31st of January, 12am Pacific time. Check it out. I will try my hardest not to make a fool of myself.
In the mean time don't forget to check out the Call for Help stuff I have done in the past.

These are my tribute to my other favorite TV Show, TechTV's Call For Help The new Iconpack FauxS-XP (Call For Help) and a new Call For Help wallpaper. These Icons have all the regular Icons I include in my FauxS-XP Iconpacks, With the addition of 13 Bonus Icons, Including Folders for all the cast of the show.  This pack is different than any of my other packs in that all Icons include a 16x16, 32x32, & 48x48, 256 Color Icons, for non XP users.
These skins are in no way an endorsement of my work by TechTV or Call For Help. I just did these as a fan of the show.

This is a free skin, done to match the upcoming Pixtudio suite named PixOS. Soon to be available at www.pixtudio.com.

11-01-02: Orion Icons Released by Stardock.com

Over the last 3 months I have been working on a custom suite of Icons for distribution on Stardock.com. This is my first attempt at a commercial suite and I am grateful to Stardock for the opportunity. You can check them out over at: http://www.stardock.com/products/iconpackager/orion.html

I think this is my best work to date, and I think the hundreds of hours that went in to them paid off. I hope you will agree.

12-24-02: Call For Help-A-Thon, on TechTV the 26th
A FauxS-X Project wallpaper gets almost 18 hours on national TV. My sucking up ;) paid off and the "Call For Help Call-A-Thon" Wallpaper was featured for most of the 18 hours of Chris Pirillo's Call-A-Thon, over on TechTV. What a wild show. Got to say DO IT AGAIN next year.
