Control Center is the ultimate
productivity enhancer. It provides Windows 95/98/NT/2000 with virtual desktops,
resource monitoring, program launching, and numerous other features. What really makes Control Center stand out is its flexibility. It can
be configured almost any way you want. Because of its object oriented design,
several uniquely configured Control Centers can be run at the same time.

For an excellent example of Control Center's
flexibility, click on this picture. In this example, there are 3 different Control
Centers running. The one on the top serves as a program launcher. Another one
on the right is monitoring user resources. And the one on the bottom is acting as a
virtual desktop manager.
What are virtual desktops you ask? They represent
an alternative way of working with your computer. On the screenshot on the left
side, you see 4 virtual desktops. Think of each one as a new monitor on your system.
By clicking on one, you can see just the windows in that particular desktop.
This helps eliminate desktop clutter and improves efficiency. Corporations around
the world rely on this functionality from everything such as multiple modes on banking
software or for developers needing to increase productivity or regular users who want to
get the most out of their PC.
